Searching for information on my great grandmother Euphamie Gibeault. She was married to Narcisse Riel. Their daughter Emma Riel, my grandmother was married to Adolph Joseph Poissant

Searching Northern New York Historical Newspapers on line shows that Ephemie Riel died on
16 Sep 1941, funeral held on Thursday the 18th at St Peter's church in Plattsburgh, NY. She was buried in the church cemetery. Another article states that she was born on 5 Apr 1854 in St Anthony, Quebec.
Quebec records have a Euphemie Gibeau born on 6 Apr 1854 at St-Chrysostome, Chateauguay, Quebec.

A variant of the Gibeau name frequently found in Clinton County, NY is Gebo. While that variant may not apply in this instance, it could appear in related records. I have located numerous Gebo family members in Rouses Point. These are all descendants of Louis Gibeau and Suzanna Lalande married 14 Nov 1826 at Napierville (St Cyprien), Québec.

Thank you for the information. I am visiting in the area for two weeks and hope to visit the cemetery and the genealogy library.
