Hello, I am glad this forum was created, especially since I am from California. I look forward to hearing each others stories of our shared French Canadian heritage. My ancestors migrated from the Richelieu valley, Quebec to Chazy NY, Alburgh,Vermont, and then settled in Hampden County Mass (Indian Orchard, Chicopee etc...) My research includes these family lines:

Hebert/Abair
Mayo/Maheu
Tremblay
Girard

Nice to be here, Bob Abair

Bob, welcome aboard. Given you are living in sunny California let us know if there is any way our society back here can be of help. We do a lot of classes and the topics are often about Vermont-specific genealogy. John Fisher has put many of those class notes on our main website (http://www.vt-fcgs.org) and he has a link right in the middle of the home page. Since most of the presenters are members, too, feel free to contact them on those topics.

Again, welcome. And thanks for posting. -Ed McGuire
