MAYO/ABAIR info

Postby RobertAbair, Jr.-902 » Fri May 03, 2013 9:35 pm

I need help in trying to find the parentage of my 2nd great grandmother Josephine MAYO (MAHEU-MAILLOUX) b. CAN c.1836 d. Feb 12, 1899 Springfield MA; parents unknown. She was married to Philippe (Philip) ABAIR (HEBERT-HUBERT) b. CAN 1840 d.1874 Alburgh VT; their children were: Theophilus (b.1864 or 1866), Delmira (b.1868), Mariet (b. July 1869 Alburgh VT), Edward R. (b. March 1872 Alburgh VT), *Charissa (Theresa) (b. July 1874 Alburgh VT). They lived in Grand Isle County, Vt (Alburgh) from 1870 to 1880-1889. gpa Philip worked for the Vermont RR and died in a Train Related accident in 1874. Any help would be appreciated...

* I wanted to correct the lat child born to Philip and Josephine was Theresa (Charissa in some census) Although I did find one record of a Thomas, I have not located any more info on him.

Thank you, Bob Abair, Jr.

Bob, although you probably know this already, there is an entry in the Springfield, MA death register for Jospehine Mayo/Abair's death from pneumonia in 1899 but that entry is one of the few without names for her mother and father nor their birthplaces (of course).

Thank you Ed for the info on Josephine's death in 1899 (Springfield Ma.).Yes, this is the brick wall I have with her. I have tried to locate any document that may have a name of her parents, and the ones we have (e.g children s birth certificates) don't record the info. Census's record her birth is in Canada, but beyond this there is little to find on her.

So the search continues, thank you again! Bob
