Genealogical Society of Vermont    Founded in 1971, the Genealogical Society of Vermont is dedicated to assisting genealogists everywhere who are researching their Vermont ancestry.
Vermont Historical Society    The Vermont Historical Society, located in Montpelier, includes exhibits and information documenting Vermont's history from the time of the Abenaki to the beginning of the 21st century. Their genealogical research library is located at the Vermont History Center in Barre.

Burlington City Clerk's Office    This website provides information on how to request Birth & Death certificates, Copies of Deeds, Marriage Licenses and how to submit a FOIA request for Burlington records. Under Land Records, you can access a link to land records for other towns in Vermont. Links to other departments within Burlington government are provide here as well.


Colchester Historical Society    The Colchester Historical Society is an organization dedicated to the preservation of the historical records, artifacts and key structures from Colchester’s long history. It is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers which has restored buildings, helped to host the town’s 250th Anniversary and to compile records about its citizens’ participation in the Civil War. Its museum is open weekly from Friday-Monday, 11 am to 3 pm, except on holidays.
Genealogy Society of Vermont    Founded in 1971, the Genealogical Society of Vermont is dedicated to assisting genealogists everywhere who are researching their Vermont ancestry. The society's collections are housed in the Leahy Library at the Vermont Historical Society in Barre. GSV publishes the well-respected journal, "Vermont Genealogy", as well as a newsletter to members. It has also published numerous volumes of Vermont vital records and constantly works to preserve our state's records. VT-FCGS members should consider joining GSV as our collections complement each other nicely.

Vermont Middlesex Vital Records Applications and Info    The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA)advises and guides public agencies in records and information management.

The records in the archive are primarily those createdreceived by public agencies as well as some county and municipal records spanning from the beginnings of earliest land grants in Vermont (c. 1688) up to the present. Most of the actual records however are not available digitally. See the “Find Records” section for more information. In the interests of preservation, records in the State Archives do not circulate.


Vermont State Archives & Records Administration    In addition to being Vermont's repository for all state records the Vermont Archives contains several key sets of genealogical records. These include VT's probate records & county court records which are being consolidated in Middlesex. The Archives also has town records on microfilm, the Vermont Eugenics Study with family pedigrees that incsude many Native American, French-Canadian, Irish and other minority citizens, military records and vital records.
