COVID Shuts Us Down (Again)

After three months of operation at our new location in Essex Junction, the Vermont Genealogy Library has been forced to shut down from November 15 thru at least December 15 as Vermont addresses a recent surge in cases of COVID-19.

We regret this pause in our “in-person” services denying members access to our journals, books and many of our online databases. We will inform you by email as soon as we have a date for re-opening and we’ll post notices on our website and Facebook page.

Please remember that we still offer members online access to both MyHeritage and Ancestry Library Editions from home. As the two largest commercial online databases, these genealogical goliaths offer billions of records and millions of family trees. They can be accessed by logging in to the Members tab at the top of our homepage (www.vtgenlib.org). While there, you can also view over 65 past classes with audio, slides and handouts.

[Note: Ancestry has only committed to offer this connection to subscribing libraries through yearend but we feel they will probably continue well into 2021].
