Acadians Who Fought in the American Revolution – Despite all they’d lost at the hands of the British many Acadians actually volunteered to fight in the American Revolution of 1776. At the time of the Revolution, a group of Acadians from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia enlisted in the Continental Army and fought as patriots under the leadership of Colonel Jonathan Eddy who was originally from Massachusetts.
