MyHeritage – Home Access!!

We are thrilled to announce that our fundraising effort was a success and we are now offering MyHeritage Library Edition to our members. And, unlike our other online offerings, this subscription will be available to members remotely!

MyHeritage Library Edition is one of the largest, most internationally diverse genealogy databases of its kind. This database will provide our patrons with access to billions of historical documents, millions of historical photos and other resources in thousands of databases that span the past five centuries.

Among the resources available are:

  • over 9 billion historical records from the United States and the world
  • the full USA federal census (1790-1940) with images
  • England & Wales census (1841-1901) with images
  • more than 3 billion family tree profiles from MyHeritage and Geni
  • over 100 million gravestone photos
  • military, immigration and passenger records

Members can access MyHeritage Library Edition from home by going to our website, https://www.vtgenlib.org, and clicking on the MEMBERS tab. When asked, enter the UserID and Password (contact us if you need them). Once there click on the icon for MyHeritage Library Edition and then the click on the text that reads, “MyHeritage Library Edition Trial”.

This “Library Edition” is similar to others like Ancestry.com in that you can’t associate your access with any personal details as you would with an individual membership.  It simply provides access to MyHeritage’s large records collection, their smart search technologies and the billions of names on their “member trees” and on Geni.com‘s huge “one world tree”

We hope all our members try this tremendous new resource. We are very excited to be able to offer remote access to these records. Good hunting!!
